Trek Prep

Pioneer Trek- The Trek's date of June 29th is getting closer and we are getting excited for a faith building experience.  Lately we have been reminded of the 10 virgins, 5 foolish and 5 wise We know from previous trek experiences that you need to prepare yourselves physically and spiritually.  You will have an amazing experience if you are physically prepared and you have a good attitude.

The church guidelines state the following for Trek participants -  Each participant should be able to complete a minimum requirement of walking/running four (4) miles on level ground in 60 minutes or less without undue stress.  This usually requires some conditioning/training prior to the trek.  Boots should fit properly and be broken in.

Trek Pre-Trip

Spent a wonderful day yesterday with the amazing activities committee, logistics team, and trail bosses at Bing Canyon Pioneer Camp. It's all coming together and we are excited about the events ahead. We experienced another tender mercy and witnessed a miracle. We made it two hours into the drive over when we stopped at a rest stop.... Brother Burningham was nearly doubled over with pain in his side. We thought we may have to turn around and to get him home. He was given a priesthood blessing and we carried on. He not only made it through 6 hours of touring the camp, but walked a lot of the trails. He has a blood clot, recent gall bladder surgery, and knee ligaments torn but still excited about trekking with  you!
